Why a hotel needs a virtual tour
Short answer: a question mark in a guest's mind is expensive. A virtual tour removes it.
1. Booking site commission
If a booking comes through a booking site, you pay a commission. If it comes through your own website, you do not. When visitors leave your own website, the usual reason is that they did not find enough information. A virtual tour is the one thing the booking sites do not have.
2. The gap between expectation and reality
Most negative reviews are a version of “it was not like the photos.” If guests have walked through the room in advance, nobody writes that sentence. The tour stops bad reviews before they start.
3. Decision time
People decide faster about a place they have seen. The difference is biggest for family rooms, suites, bungalows and wedding and meeting halls; in these spaces, photos do not show scale.
4. Uses beyond sales
A tour is not only for bookings: it also helps when you sell a meeting room, explain a room type to a travel agency or train your staff.
The numbers vary from hotel to hotel; we do not promise you an exact percentage. What we promise is this: guests will be able to explore your hotel before they arrive.
We explain the process step by step on the hotel owners page. For a technical definition of a virtual tour, see this page; for the scope of the service, see the 360-degree virtual tour photography section.
